last week I wrote a short diary entry about haruhi's shoot , so this is the next entry :3
After Haruhi's shoot , I did another shoot at similar location :3
(The location is getting very convenient when I have a pocket of free time to shoot and yet not much time to travel to faraway location xD )
This time , Im shooting Kyou from CLANNAD - Summer Uniform version :D

CLANNAD is one of those older anime series which has very nice feel around it
Albeit being very slow paced , the second part is actually pretty sad :'x
During the shoot ,Kyou's tsun facial expression is hard to get right T_T
I couldnt even remember how many shots we have attempted to get the better ones
Just a random thought ,
I love kyou's purple wig this time around x'D !!!!
Its the first time I loved a purple wig so much (because lighter wig usually make our face looks darker, I usually dont really have a liking towards lighter colored wig but kyou's wig is quite smooth and looks pretty nice on camera :'D !! )
I tore the white thigh high socks during the socks... right after this shot was taken =_="" talk about bad/good luck ?
Anyway , processing the pic was quite fun :3 I tried experimenting with the tones to give the pictures a lighter feel (when you watch CLANNAD, you'll realize the anime have a really light, ethereal tone to it T_T which is almost impossible to replicate in Singapore's context so thats where editing goes... )

Ive been busy preparing for the start of a new academic year for the past few days . This year , we barely have 2 and a half weeks' holiday :'x , and I havent had many shoots so far.... However, since I havent written about the few shoots I had before my electives started, today's blog diary entry is going to be about my BLOOD - C Saya shoot :)

Series : Blood C
Didnt really managed to do the sword as it was a mad rush >,<;;;;;
so its not accurate AT ALL.... borrowed a katana from my friend Shizuku (http://shizukurashi.blogspot.sg/) , changed the chains provided with my own thicker set of chains which is closer to the original neck chain , and went ahead with the shoot anyway tho T_T and in the end still have quite a lot of fun xD !!!! Thats my prop staff dangling at the back hahahaha (another cosplan which I havent found the time to shoot TxT)
Basically , Blood C is a bloody series ^^ and I mean it quite literally ^^"" Initially, the only reason I watched the show is because I thought it is a good show since it is affiliated with Blood plus somehow(which is an awesome show ;D ) .What happened was, I watched the series up to 4 episodes before I gave up because I watched the final episode right after the fourth episode because I wanted some spoiler . However, while watching the final episode, I saw a scene where some 'monsters' (for the sake of simplyfying what the antagonists are ) are literally blending humans in a gigantic blender (●´∀｀●)"""" ........

and that scene kinda botched the deal for me...(ﾉ´ｰ`)ﾉ

However, I actually liked Saya's character design (/•ิ_•ิ)/ . Despite what people say was shallow characterisation , I feel that its quite logical for her character to switch from a cheerful side to a more serious and cold-blooded side since seeing her character background (wont be giving any spoiler if you're gonna watch it ^^ relax) one will realize that under such situation its actually very logical of her to be able to juggle both side of the personalities O.O Anyway to cut the story short , eventually ,my friend Mirai from Pika Pika was very nice to lend me the cos I have been eyeing for a while :3 and so I decided to go all out and rewatched the series (∩_∩)
Since CLAMP is one of my favorite mangaka groups xD ,
let me show you CLAMP's illustration for Blood C :)
For Saya's shoot one of the major challenge I face now isnt lighting or angle or make up etc...but the expression (╥_╥)
I tried portraying her darker side but mostly, what I get is still her happier more cheerful side ---- and not a good one at that too :'((( since my facial expression is... T_T unsuitable for her lets say.... I dont like as mature as Saya should look....

My friend Yu Bin was very kind to be my photog for the day too and we managed to get a few nice shots too :3 (still processing because of my slow speed T_T but hopefully most of them will be up soon) His style is darker and more mature and this below is one of the pic that I got from him :D

The venue by the way is pretty fun to shoot at :3 Many cosplayers say that the venue is "overused" for shoots ^^ but then again its a pretty nice area and unless your aim to look for a unique location to stand out from the crowd, shooting here is pretty nice :3 its free , its sheltered , easy to access and there is a mall nearby where you can change (and its very close to mrt ;D ). The lighting's not bad too :D Being so busy at school I dont really get to travel to many nice photoshoot sites and when I got the chance to come here , I have to say its a very nice location ;D
At the end of the day it was a terrific shoot xD !!! We tried many many shots and failed but eventually got some decent shots and were happy ^^ Thank you so so much to all my friends (Mirai-chan , Shizu , Yu Bin , Ee-chan ) who have helped with the shoot !!! :D
Learned a few tricks with the wig during this shot as it was really quite difficult dealing with this wig :'x !!! (Anyway , about wig , I really want to level up my wig styling ability but the time... argh... I hope I'll be able to improve my studies this year so I'll hv more time to cos T_T) ..... Anyway , thats all for today's post :) Will work harder to improve my skills (since I'll only get older and this face aint getting any younger hahaha xD) and accuracy next time ;D

She wore this only for a section in the anime series where she's promoting/making a commercial(CM) about a Chinese Restaurant called Nyan Nyan Cafe ;D (which exist in the anime :3)

To be honest, it was quite a hectic week for me . A terrible terrible hectic week ! >3<
I ended up renting the wig just to be able to shoot on that one free slot I have on that CNY week >3<

The steamer - DAISO is a very cheap source ;D thanks to Natalie and XY for helping me with regards to this as I was actually not quite familiar as to where to find a bamboo steamer initially :3
To the photogs Ee-chan and XY, thanks so much for bracing the unforgiving heat (and my complaints ^^" tee hee... I have to admit that I complained quite a lot drg the shoot because the garden was PACKED FULL of people on that day and some of them are just ... impolite *loooooongsigh* luciky we managed to go through the day quite uneventfully ;D and managed to get some nice shots too ^^ )

My experience with this shoot was really fun LOL! It was good that XY was really friendly despite this being our first shoot together x'D !! Else, it could have been a really awkward and quiet shoot :P When you have a photog like this below :
Kinda confirmed the shoot will be quite fun ;D Also, there's a group of Turkish tourists and one chinese gentleman who were very polite when they wanted a picture. The chinese gentleman actually asked nicely for a picture and told me that he wanted it for her daughter , who liked anime :3 Since I'm talking about this, I just want to jot down some thoughts about what happened during this particular shoot :(( The turkish tourists were looking at our group with interest since Im in cosplay. During the shoot I was rather upset when some people (especially this group of men) purposely walked closer and closer to us and then circle aimlessly around us and even took picture without permittion when I'm obviously glaring =_="" I was pretty upset to the extent that I actually spoke out quite loudly so that they can hear me saying sth along the line of " It is really impolite to take pictures from that distance and walk closer to us!!!! " . These turkish group of tourists heard me and actually, although they were not the group that circled and walked pass us but rather, only expressed interest , they actually bothered to ask nicely for a picture after that.
Meanwhile, the group of people who circled us continued doing circling us --> one person even followed us to the top of the pagoda and passed by us like 3-4 times =_=""" (we stayed in one spot =_="" its very suspicious when this man continues circling us =_="" ) . If they wanted a picture, shy or not shy, its IMPOLITE to take pictures when Im clearly glaring at them and showing that Im pissed off and doesnt want any pictures to be taken, :( . IF they ask nicely, Im pretty sure most cosplayers will even smile and pose for them ! Imagine going out there and seeing some people randomly taking pictures of you without permition ? :( Some people online argued with the old : " you dressed that way you deserved it" --> ah, so if you're wearing bikini at the beach and people start taking picture of you its ok I assume ? Or the tamer : " so if you're walking along orchard road with unusual but covered clothing its allright for people to take pictures of you?" NO. You have eyes, yes you can see, but there's a difference between a polite curious look and a lecherous ridiculing look =_=""
Anyway, was nice to see some sakura branches deco in the garden that day ;D !!

End of shoot, I was feeling terribly dehydrated, tired, and of course hungry >3<
so I didnt even bother to take off my buns and QiBao.
I ended up eating at MOS Burger in that attire LOL!! xD hahaha
Overall, its a very fun shoot x'D
I learned to rush things with
'ok' results even more I guess :P considering how rushed this shoot was given that I really dont have the luxury of time T3T But yep, I learned to emergency-DIY some props within a short period of time *evilsmirk* and I am actually quite happy because there are quite a few of good pics from the bunch that we managed to take :D

Will be sieveing more of the pictures soon and hope I'll have time to sieve through considering my lappie is pretty damn slow when it comes to opening heavy picture files *sigh*

YEP! I just changed my FB Cover page to Senbonzakura's shoot because I really liked the shot !! Added in some sakura (because the background is kinda sadly sparse T_T) and neon effects from PS (which took quite long because I initially didnt know how to add it at all and as you can see the loop line is drawn with mouse thus the wavering on the line hurhur... T3T ) .
I update my fb more often as I get busier nowadays because its the easiest and quickest to upload for me :3

There has been ups and downs, and although I felt that I've improved to some extents, there are more that I have to do in order to make sure I passed my next year's exam comfortably *sigghhhhh* Granted, life's not easy and I'm more than grateful I've had friends and fqamilies to help support me both financially and mentally throughout these long years of my studies (which will still leave me quite poor in the first decade of my career thanks to my choice of career --> following my passion hahahaha x'D --> no regrets though, and only determination and more soul searching to make sure I stayed on path following what had guided me through to choose this :3 )
Still , I cant leave cosing because it has taught me quite a lot beside the art of make up and posing :3 it had also taught me confidence, courage , gave me many priceless new friends and acquintances as well as taught me that despite how daunting some projects can be given my very crazy deadlines/time limits, its DOABLE. and even when it fails, just do wth whatever you have ^^ hahahaha
So, without further aunty-rants from me, here's the year 2013 in my life :3
not exactly a successful shoot because it was midnight and we got chased out + lighting's terrible .. but had tremendous fun !! x'D and one shoot crossed off bucket list !! :D
I didnt do any particularly fun stuff for Xmas or New Year (except eat Xiao Long Bao at Din Tai Fung because sad as it is , I actually never ate XLB before waahahahaaha xD ~ , granted I love Dim Sum ;D so its pretty much a treat for me LOL ) .
I want to thank everyone of my friends who have been very very supportive to me throughout this hell of a year :D There was one huge quarrel amongst my group of friends at my intern place which ended up in much tears and drama .. OTL and in the end I felt that what we've talked through didnt really get carried out but I think through each and every obstacles and quarrels, we'll improve and get a better understandings towards each other :3 (hopefully) . Met new cosplay friends and photog friends as well and managed to only watch very very few anime/manga this holiday (because its only 2 weeks compared to last year's 1 month) so I focused mostly on making props and preparing for my next shoot with little focus on catching up *SIGH* ... I hope I wont get burnt out next year :'(((
