Lens Review ♡ i.Fairy Dolly+ Brown ( ・ω・`)//~~

Hello~ 

So many things went on these few weeks from some shoots, to project deadlines, to appearing on Hello! Japan to me x'D!!! I really really have to find some time to blog all that's happening or else this blog will just die OTL....

In order to discipline myself from spouting excuses such as "too tired...too lazy" 

I finally decided to blog about one of the lenses series that I bought because I thought they have awesome designs !!!

Yeap ! 

Today I'm going to write a review about a pair of lenses I tried recently for my Suzumiya Haruhi shoot read *here* :3 

iFairy Dolly+ Brown !

this series is also known as Vassen Dolly plus Brown for those who purchase from Vassen! :)

I bought this pair because I'm looking for a pair of brown lenses which is on the mellow side, but at the same time allow it to stand out . For this I've purchased a few pairs and initially, seeing that dolly red is quite vibrant, I thought dolly brown will lean towards yellow/gold rather than brown, as pictured in the ads above :)"

on the lens case, I definitely still thought so !!

Now lets move on to the review of the lenses when worn !

Review :

Design ♥♥♥♥♡

I find the design simple and not too unnatural. The black ring and simple design allows the colour in this series to stand out quite a bit and I feel that this series will be good to use for cosplay ;3 however, the downside is of course, it doesnt look as natural as some other lenses. Puffy 3 tone series from barbie is natural looking but the lack of the solid black ring means the enlarging effects are not as much as ifairy's -- in the end, it depends on how you want to replicate the chara's eyes I guess :3

Comfort ♥♥♥♥♡

Comfort wise, this is a comfortable pair of lenses ^^4 hours straight under hot weather and its perfectly comfortable for me :)

Enlargement ♥♥♥♥♡

Very good enlarging effects ;D 

Colour ♥♥♥♥♡

Good if you're looking for a pair of brown lenses that will stand out during shoots :3 However, if you're looking for yellow/gold :( be prepared to be disappointed as unless you take a close up shot/ have very good lighting on set,  the lenses' colour tend to veer on the side of light brown rather than yellow/gold that is portrayed on the ad :3 

Will I buy it again ? 

Yep! This works quite nicely for me since Im not looking for gold/yellow lenses this time around :D the brown does stand out and provides a very nice mellow soft brown colour to your eyes ;D Wont really be wearing this much if you want something which look natural though ^^ but yes, this is good for cosplay ;D

Here are some pictures from my Haruhi shoot which I took with my phone, 

just to show you how it leans more towards brown 

I guess, if you're using some sort of flash or reflectors when you're taking pictures :x or taking SUPER CLOSED UP pictures , the gold/yellow hue will show, as seen in my close up pictures up above O.O

The picture below is taken by hi-def camera but is totally unedited

As you can see, the pattern is clearer, making the colour more noticeable but not much brighter :/ 

With proper lighting blasted FULL POWER at your face from the reflector (which is very hot <literally> and blinding at times <hahahahaxD> ) it can look clearer :3 this added with some processing can look quite vibrant ^^

iFary Cara Green !

this series is also known as Vassen Lollipop Green for those who purchase from Vassen! :)

The reason I bought this pair is mainly because the design and colour looks very vibrant in the advert picture x'D !!!! When I saw it , I thought : "HEY! This will be an really awesome vibrant lens for cosplay !!"

And yep , when I opened the casings , I definitely still thought so !!

Review :

Design ♥♥♥♥♡

The design is really cute unique and cute even. Its not often that we see lenses like this being worn because they may seem unnatural. However, to be very honest, after I've worn them, I noticed that they're not exactly as unnatural as I thought they'd be. As you can see above , 
1. they are not 100% as vibrant as they are in the advert picture. The green colour doesnt scream out as much as compared to what I was expecting.
2. they are 'ok' in terms of vibrancy for cosplay lenses , although this is a plus point if you dont want to look too striking , sporting alien-like patterned eyes while going out in casual outfit but would love to have a unique pattern on your lenses ;3

Comfort ♥♥♥♡♡

Comfort wise, this is a comfortable pair of lenses ^^ despite its large size, I wore them for 6+ hours straight from beginning of shoot till end of shoot + outing and my eyes are quite comfortable :3 

Enlargement ♥♥♥♥♡

Needless to say , satisfactory ;D Very nice enlarging effects !

Colour ♥♥♥♥♡

Good if you're not looking for a bright and 'sreaming' kind of green colour, but sadly not good enough if you're expecting to have eyes with the same vibrant green colours as an anime characters' ://// Its needs to be a little bit brighter to give you the anime character eyes look. In my coses, it kinda work because in a distance it looks more like teal /bluish green rather than grass green, which suits my chara's teal green hair.

Will I buy it again ? 

Hmm, maybe yes, maybe no? I have the cara red which I will review soon I guess. But now that I've known how cara green is, I'm not really convinced that cara red will be much more vibrant. For green lenses, I still like Barbie's Puffy Three Tones, which look very natural although the enlarging effect is not as extensive as ifairy lenses' . Im guessing that Jewel green series from iFairy may be a better choice for green lenses so oh well ~ lets try that next time ~ ;D

Lens Review _ i.Fairy Dolly + Blue

Hi, Today I will be reviewing i Fairy's Dolly + Blue 

Diameter 16.2 mm

Comfort ♥♥♥♥♡

Still similar with my other ifairy lenses, 
they're quite comfortable on my eyes despite their large size :D
I wore them for about 8 hours straight today as I was out and its just difficult to remove the lenses ~_~
At the end of the day, my eyes are a bit dry , but there isnt any discomfort at all :3


Enlargement ♥♥♥♥♡
I'm in love with it~ again ~ :3 

Colour ♥♥♥♡♡

I think its because of my dark eye colour T_T ( which is dark brown/brownie ) The blue colour is semi transparent , like in most lenses, and although it can show well on camera provided lighting , it doesnt show well if its a bit darker :(( 

HOWEVER , the colour IS VERY OBVIOUS compared to other blue lenses pattern (simply because there are more blue area on this lens design I think hahaha ^^)

I asked my friend and the blue tint is visible when I'm talking to her (conversational distance) and up to about 1,5 metre according to her :3 

Would i buy it again ? 

Yes ~!! I love the colour ~! As promised by the advertisement , although we do need better lighting when taking pictures, for the colour to show ;3

I'm loving this pair of lenses so far ^^ 

At first I thought they would look very fake /artificial but actually I think they turn out ok :3 The public wont really notice unless they're metres from you :P who scrutinise everyone's eyes colour on public anyway ? But if you're talking to someone, it sure is noticeable ^^ The blue colour is deep and lovely too~~ I like the gleam on its surface . Makes my eyes looks sparkly (tee heee~~ ) 

anyway, thats all folks ~ ;3

Lens Review _ i Fairy Nova Green

Hi ,today I'll be reviewing iFairy 's Nova Green, 

followed by and intro to circle lenses for those who doesnt know about them ^^

So , back to Nova Green ^^

Like my other ifairy lenses, they're quite comfortable despite their large size :D

Love it ! Boasting a 16,2 mm diameter  isnt for nothing :3 
However , abased on personal knowledge and experience ,  do note that you shouldnt wear these kind of lenses Every single day for extended period of time ^^ Let your eyes breathe a little :3

Colour ♥♥♥♡♡
The colour isnt as striking as I would have expected from the advertorial picture , and the pattern does have clear gaps in between where your true eye colour will show .
I find it natural while not being totally subtle , since the green colour is indeed visible :3 although if you really want a striking green , maybe iFairy's Jewel green will be more obvious :3

Now, the last part (more serious part)

Circle Lenses Trivia

What are circle lenses ?

here's the wiki definition :

also known as a big eye contact lens and circle lens, is a cosmetic contact lens that makes the eye's iris appear larger; this product originated from South Korea.

So far , most of my lenses (if not all) are South Korean made :3

They often comes in many many design , from pretty to unnaturally scary interesting  ^^

consider these :

(these are purely my opinions :3, I do have a preference to non-extreme looking lenses unless for cosplay purposes ) 

I love casper violet         , but Yuri Grey's pattern (up close seems a bit off for me :(  ) 

Are they vision corrective ?

They're available in both corrective and non corrective forms :3 

Are they safe ?

This is important !! I do strongly suggest that you NEVER , EVER purchase from dubious seller no matter how cheap they charge you compared to official sellers. Nowadays , there are many many non authentic lenses from China which is making its way through the market parading in look-alike bottles of iFairy , Vassen , Geo etc . 

The latest step iFairy has taken to tackle this is by adding hologram stickers on their packaging :

End point is , DONT buy if its too cheap, dubious etc , no hologram sticker :( 

if your eyes experience ANY discomfort at all / REDNESS / ITCH upon wearing them ,  please please please  IMMEDIATELY take them off,rise them again (because it may be debri , when your first round lens washing isnt clean enough ), and try again . IF it persists , take them off and dont wear them at all. They may be fake lenses !!!

Be especially cautious because circle lenses are often ordered online :( 

Only order from trusted sources !

In fact , FDA SG caught a batch of fake lenses contaminated with the potentially dangerous bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa

(these bacteria commonly causes Soft-lenses-associated keratitis . Wiki them to know what else this bacteria can cause :( I'm not trying to scare you. I;m studying microbiology at school  as of now :(( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pseudomonas_aeruginosa )

Now , lets proceed to the 'a bit' scary part ;3 

Can I wear them every day ?

I advise you not to.

I personally only wear lenses for special occasion, events(cosplay etc) , about once or twice a week :3 . I've known people who wore them everyday without fail, but then again , do note that these people may not wear it the whole day (only a few hours everyday) . Otherwise, if you're wearing them everyday and 

The cornea (part of our eyes where the lenses rest on) relies on diffusion of Oxygen via air to 'breathe' . Wearing lenses for extended period of time may hamper oxygen transfer :( your eyes will feel strained and tired :( Even worse, yourn cornea may turn hypoxic , leading to decreased sight . 

Also , most circle lenses are for yearly use (meaning you can use them for up to one year after opening provided they're not damaged and you clean them regularly) . They're not as soft as daily lenses and prolonged use may lead to dry eyes --> leading to abrasion or minute scratching of the cornea .
